I’m a graphic designer working across brand identity, book covers, illustration, posters and social media design. I’m especially interested in the point where an idea becomes a visual language, and I tend to gravitate towards work that has a strong concept behind it rather than design that exists purely for decoration. I enjoy finding simple visual solutions to complicated ideas, playing with symbolism and negative space, and using typography, composition and imagery to give a piece a distinct personality. My background in writing has had a big influence on how I approach creative work. I think about the story, the audience and the feeling behind a brief before I start thinking about how it should look. I also have a long standing interest in books, film, music, football and visual culture, which constantly feeds the way I think about images and storytelling. I’m particularly interested in meeting other designers, illustrators, writers and creative people who care about the thinking behind their work. I like seeing how other people solve problems, talking through ideas, sharing references and finding unexpected connections between different creative disciplines. I’m here to learn, contribute, make interesting work and hopefully find a few good people to make things with along the way.
